In the second video in the series highlighting Houston’s fight to cure breast cancer we meet Trish Hayes, who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease only a year after giving birth to her second child.
In what might be the most terrifying experience for any young mother, Hayes was confronted with the idea that she might not be around to share her children’s milestones — dating, getting a driver’s license, graduations. After her diagnosis, Hayes spent time writing notes to her kids in which she would give them advice and guidance in case she lost her battle with breast cancer.
But soon, “life” became Hayes’ obsession, and she turned the intensity of her fears into a driving will to beat the disease. Next month marks a decade that she has been cancer-free.
